My Laughing Prayer

Crossing another,
Long lonely county line,
Looking back,
Far behind,
Somehow I see you,
Standing there,
Waving to me,
In my rear view mirror,
Shaking slowly,
My head moves,
How did I ever care for you?
And somehow,
I'm praying for you,
It's not a lie,
Amazingly it's true,
And so I bow,
To ask grace,
For God to bless you,
And your sad face,
I'll look back and laugh,
Though,
For the times,
I thought about you,
Being worth while,
I'll wonder what happened,
Why I felt that way,
I'll laugh at my stupidity,
My blindness,
And praying to God,
To help your happiness,
But for some reason,
I'll laugh at your sadness,
'Feel what you've inflicted on ME,
You horrid investment!',
I'll think to myself,
Yes...I'm a vicious wretch,
I'll grin my evil smile,
Thinking,
How the heck,
Was he ever worth my while?!
Moving down the road,
I'll laugh at your tongue,
Like a toad,
Never to trust,
No matter how you feel,
You must,
I'll drive away,
Laughing but praying for your sad face...
